Scientific Notation

The usual representation of a real is fine for normal use.
But it can become awkward if the numbers are
  very large:   293 000 000 000
  or very small:   0.000 000 000 000 761

Such numbers can be represented more compactly using
  Scientific Notation (also known as Standard Form).

2.93 x 10¹¹ or 2.93 E+11
7.61 x 10^-13 or 7.61 E-13
(The E notation is used by calculators and will not be used here.)
